On the heels of announcing a location on Grand Avenue, Crisp & Green is planning another St. Paul location — this one in Highland Park.
The local fast-casual outfit that serves salads, grain bowls, seasonal specials and smoothies is planning an outpost in the former Pieology space on Ford Parkway with a well-known pro athlete behind it.
The Highland Park space will be run by Minnesota native Kris Humphries, a former NBA player and Minnesota Gopher.
“We have fielded hundreds of requests for Crisp & Green in the St. Paul market, especially in the Grand Avenue and Highland Park areas,” said chief executive and founder Steele Smiley in a news release. “We are excited to be able to address those requests and provide the community not one but two Crisp & Green locations in the area.”
This will be Humphries’ third Crisp & Green as a franchisee, his first in the University of Minnesota’s Dinkytown last December and a second in Maple Grove in July.
Crisp & Green has expanded to five locations in the metro since the first one opened in Wayzata in fall 2016 and the company began franchising last year.
This summer, it was announced that a Crisp & Green was slated for Grand Avenue in St. Paul. While Humphries will operate the Highland Park location, the Grand Avenue location in St. Paul will be run by another franchise partner, Blake Graves.
The Highland Park location is slated for an Oct. 24 rollout while the one on Grand Avenue is scheduled to open in November.
