FARGO — A new-to-the-area healthy, fast casual restaurant chain will soon be opening its doors in south Fargo.
Crisp and Green , which opened its first location in Wayzata, Minn., in 2016, is set to open a new location in Fargo this summer, the restaurant chain announced via social media. The menu boasts salads, grain bowls, smoothies and beverages such as tea and kombucha. The menu also offers build-your-own and kids' sections. Many items are vegan-friendly.
The new Fargo restaurant — planned near the intersection of 45th St. S. and 23rd Ave. S. — is just one piece of Crisp and Green's rapid and aggressive expansion plans. Crisp and Green is planning to open 38 new locations, a dozen of which are slated for Minnesota.
According to city property records, Crisp and Green has not yet filed a building permit application.

In addition to the Fargo restaurant, two more are planned for North Dakota. Crisp and Green's website did not indicate where those locations would be, however both are said to open in 2021.
The remainder of Crisp and Green's new locations are planned for Florida, Arizona, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Texas.
The chain currently has seven Twin Cities area locations as well as one in Dallas.
Crisp and Green announced its nationwide expansion in October of 2020 . "We have been very pleased with the success we've experienced in Minnesota and are thrilled that communities have embraced and supported us so quickly," founder Steele Smiley remarked via news release at the time. "We are eager to expand into other parts of the country to bring additional communities nutritious, great-tasting food in our unique welcoming environment."
The brand first started franchising in 2018. The expansion will triple Crisp and Green's size, its website said.
Crisp and Green did not immediately respond to The Forum's request for further information.
