Crisp & Green is expected to open in April 2022.

A salad shop named Crisp & Green is planning a significant expansion across Dallas-Fort Worth, with as many as 15 stores expected to open in the next few years, according to a spokeswoman.

The company has two shops in Texas right now, in University Park across the street from Southern Methodist University and on Abrams Road in Lakewood Dallas.

The third in Texas, near Interstate 30 and the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, is expected to open in April 2022. The address is 2901 Ridge Road, Rockwall.

According to a spokeswoman, Crisp & Green is moving into neighborhoods with “health-conscious customers.”

Customers have the option of building their own salads or choosing one from the menu, like the Buffalo and Bleu salad for $10.75 or the No Prob Cobb (spinach, kale, chicken, avocado, egg, bacon and more) for $13.65. Grain bowls come with a base of brown rice and are layered with veggies, protein and dressings like jalapeño-lime vinaigrette, citrus-miso-sesame or ranch.

It’s a healthy time for salad shops in North Texas: Salad and Go landed in Plano in May 2021 and has already expanded to Dallas and Richardson. Snappy Salads is a longtime brand that originated in Dallas in 2006 and has grown to about a dozen locations in D-FW. Another “better for you” brand is Original ChopShop, an Arizona company that moved into North Texas in 2018. EatZi’s and Central Market are competitive among build-your-own salad spots as well.
